With a love of manipulating protein function, my lab develops molecular tools to monitor cell physiology. We have focused on fluorescent probes for calcium, voltage, and neurotransmitters to track the activity of neuronal circuits in live animals.
Working closely with biology labs, we aim for tools that will enable qualitatively new biological experiments and will be immediately and broadly adaptable to a variety of questions. We’re excited to explore development of tools to monitor new physiological signals in live animals in collaboration with 4DCP at Janelia.
